I'm coming of my worst combined week of the season. After an amazing 8-1 NCAA week I followed up with a dissapointing 3-6 week leaving my season percentage at 52.2%. I had my first official losing NFL week after seven weeks in the season going 3-4. My NFL mark remains over 60% at 60.4% for the season. I feel strong about this week and look to increase my season percentages.
NCAA:
(1.) UCLA (-6) at Washington St.
UCLA is one of the best teams in the country who just happened to have two horrible outings versus Utah and Notre Dame. Historically, Martin Stadium has been a very difficult place to play, but after last weeks big win over Cal I expect UCLA to keep rolling.
Pick: UCLA by 20
Result: Washington St. 27, UCLA 7 (Loss)
(2.) C Mich (-2.5) at Kent St.
I got burned bad last week picking C Mich against ACC powerhouse Clemson, but the Chippewas are back in the MAC this week. Kent St. has been falling apart lately and I fully expect C Mich to bounce back this week.
Pick: C Mich by 12
Result: C Mich 41, Kent St. 32 (Win)
(3.) Utah St. (+2.5) v. L Tech
This is the Aggies bowl game. They have been fighting all season and coming up short. It will all come together this week for this senior laden team. The Aggies have been waiting for a team that is closer to their level and they will capitalize at home this week.
Pick: Utah St. by 7
Result: L Tech 31, Utah St. 21 (Loss)
(4.) Oregon (-3) v. USC
It is very difficult to pick against USC, but Oregon has been waiting for this situation for years. The Trojans are down and will probably have backup QB Sanchez in the game. Autzen Stadium will be ballistic for this game and Oregon will not let this one slip away like they did against Cal.
Pick: Oregon by 9
Result: Oregon 24, USC 17 (Win)
(5.) Michigan St. (-3) at Iowa
The Spartans have been playing inspired ball under new coach Mark Dantonio. Kinnick Stadium has been an imposing task for Big Ten teams for years, but Michigan St. will come away with the tough road win. Illinois feel victim at Iowa a few weeks ago, but the Hawkeyes are far from Ferentz's normal caliber. The Spartans get it done with a tough B10 road performace.
Pick: Michigan St. by 9
Result: Iowa 34, Michigan St. 27 (Loss)
(6.) Kansas (-2.5) at Texas A&M
Are the Jayhawks for real? Maybe they aren't elite, but they can beat anyone in the Big 12 other than Oklahoma. The Aggies are ready to bust at the seams and were lucky to be playing Nebraska last week. The Jayhawks have superb defense and will stifle the Aggies all game. The Jayhawks might be the last unbeaten BCS team after this week.
Pick: Kansas by 8
Result: Kansas 19, Texas A&M 11 (Win)
(7.) Maryland (+3.5) v. Clemson
There is nothing that makes me think Clemson can win a road game in the ACC against a reasonable team. maryland was stunned late last week versus Virginia and will look for redemtion this week versus the basket case Tigers. Take the home team in this clash of medicore ACC teams.
Pick: Maryland by 1
Result: Clemson 30, Maryland 17 (Loss)
(Blowout of the WeeK) Arkansas (-39) v. Florida International
How can a 39 point favorite be the blowout of the week? The Razorbacks will run all over the Golden Panthers week and score at will. McFadden and Jones will do whatever they wan all game long. Arkansas is not afraid to run up the score, especially knowing they have major SEC tests on the horizon. This one will be ugly.
Pick: Arkansas by 51
Result; Arkansas 58, Florida International 10 (Win)
(Underdog Play of the Week) Colorado (+13.5) at Texas Tech
Hawkins finally seems to have the Buffaloes playing well and the Red Raiders are slightly overrated. Texas Tech has been awesome at home, but will run into a solid and confident Buffalo defense this week. This one will be closer than the public expects.
Pick: Texas Tech by 5
Result: Colorado 31, Texas Tech 26 (Win)

NFL:
(1.) San Diego (-9) v. Houston
The Chargers will be playing with heavy hearts due to the fires blazing in Souther California and will play to the best of their ability. The Texans are not ready for this game and will be lown out by halftime. Tomlinson and Co. will roll and dominate a weak Texans defense. It appears this game will be played in San Diego, although it won't matter. Chargers roll.
Pick: Chargers by 17
Result: Chargers 35, Texans 10 (Win)
(2.) Jacksonville (+3.5) at Tampa Bay
I love how evert\yone jumps off the Jags bandwagon after one week. Why? Two reasons a.) they were destroyed at home by the Colts and b.) they lost starting QB Garrard for the next few weeks. Well, the Colts are the best team in the league and Garrard is not the focal point of this Jags team. I'll take a solid AFC team get points against an average NFC team any day of the week.
Pick: Jaguars by 3
Result: Jaguars 24, Bucs 23 (Win)
(3.) Denver (-3) v. Green Bay
I love the Packers this year and "they" say never bet agianst Favre on Monday Night. I don't buy it. The Broncos played an excellent game last week at home versus the Steelers on national television and will do the same this week versus the Packers. I expect a tight battle throughout with Denver winning it late in front of a rowdy home crowd.
Pick: Denver by 5
Result: Packers 19, Broncos 13 (Loss)
(Blowout of the Week) New England (-16) v. Washington
The Skins have a nice little team who will battle with almost anyone. However, they are not the type of team to step up and stun a powerhouse, especially on the road. No trap game the Patroits, they will destroy the Redskins and easily cover the large spread.
Pick: Patriots by 27
Result: Patriots 52, Redskins 7 (Win)
(Upset Special) Cincinnati (+4) v. Pittsburgh
The Bengals need this one and will play their best against the hated Steelers. The Jungle will be rocking and the Steelers will once again be exposed as a strong team, not an elite one. Palmer an Johnson have huge games and send the Steelers to a second consecutive loss.
Pick: Benglas by 8
Result: Steelers 24, Bengals 13 (Loss)
(Under 41) Oakland at Tennessee
I fully expect the Titans defense to dominate after last weeks fourth quarter meltdown versus the Texans. This one will be low scoring and controlled by the defenses. I expect the Titans to win this one, but not many points will be scored in this one.
Result: 22 points -- Titans 13, Raiders 9 (Win)
(Under 48) NY Giants v. Miami (London)
The Dolphins are terrible and the Giants just keep winning, blowout right? Maybe so, but the score will be down in this one. The Dplohins have to play better for a big European battle. The NFL will be on showcase in England and the Dolphins can't get blowout. Giants get the victory, but the under is the play.
Result: 23 points -- NY Giants 13, Dolphins 10 (Win)

- Chicago over Detroit by 12...revenge for their earlier meeting
